Richard Ashcroft has announced the exciting lineup for his highly anticipated homecoming show at Robin Park in Wigan, taking place on July 20th and 21st, 2024.

On Saturday, July 20th, Britpop icons Cast, fresh from the release of their eagerly awaited album ‘Love Is The Call’, will grace the stage. Joining them will be Liverpool’s Red Rum Club, gearing up for their largest UK headline show at the M&S Arena Liverpool next month, in support of their acclaimed album ‘Western Approaches’. Also on the bill is Wigan’s own rising star Maxwell Varey, who made waves with his self-written and self-produced debut EP last year.

Sunday, July 21st, will feature a stellar performance by multi-platinum selling band The Zutons, following their headline tour and upcoming comeback album release. Welsh indie quartet The Royston Club and Wigan’s emerging talent Stanleys will also showcase their musical prowess, continuing the tradition of notable musicians hailing from the North West town.

These concerts mark Richard’s return to Wigan after a quarter-century hiatus. “After 25 years, I’m back playing in my hometown,” he commented. “Looking forward to an amazing night in Wigan.”

Richard Ashcroft, a two-time Ivor Novello winner, has achieved significant success with five Top 5 solo albums, including the chart-topping debut ‘Alone With Everybody’. He gained prominence as part of The Verve, renowned for their era-defining album ‘Urban Hymns’ and timeless hits like ‘The Drugs Don’t Work’ and ‘Bittersweet Symphony’. His latest album, ‘Acoustic Hymns’, reached No.2 in the UK Album Chart upon its release in 2022.

Robin Park, Wigan Warriors‘ state-of-the-art facility, offers a convenient location just a 20-minute walk from Wigan town centre and Wigan North Western train station.
