The Cribs are thrilled to announce a special show commemorating 20 years since the release of their iconic debut album.
Dubbed ‘One Night At The Olympia’, this exclusive gig on May 24th, 2024, at Liverpool‘s elegant Olympia venue, will see the Jarman brothers revisiting their seminal ‘The Cribs’ record on its two-decade anniversary.
But that’s not all—fans can also expect a full performance of their breakthrough follow-up album, ‘The New Fellas’, along with a set featuring their greatest hits from across their illustrious career.
This marks the band’s first return to Liverpool since their memorable ‘The Cribs at the Cavern’ performance in 2020, immortalised as a live album.
Recorded at the legendary Toe-Rag studios and partly produced by US underground musician Bobby Conn, The Cribs’ 2004 self-titled debut album propelled them from DIY heroes to mainstream recognition with indie club anthems like “Another Number” and “You Were Always The One”.
Praised by NME for its “supreme pop melodies”, ‘The Cribs’ remains a cult classic, cherished by long-time fans and influencing successive generations of indie bands.
Their breakthrough came with the release of ‘The New Fellas’ in 2005, produced by Edwyn Collins and featuring four top 40 singles including “Hey Scenesters!” and “Mirror Kissers”.
Garnering acclaim as one of Q Magazine’s ‘Albums of the Century’, it solidified The Cribs’ status as “the biggest cult band in the UK” according to Q Magazine.
