The Masterplan 25th Anniversary Reissue Confirmed

Not many bands can release a full album of B-sides that stands the test of time as a stellar record in its own right, but in 1998, Oasis delivered just that with ‘The Masterplan’.

Following on from Definitely Maybe, (What’s The Story) Morning Glory, and Be Here Now, The Masterplan included tracks such as Half The World Away, Acquiesce, and Talk Tonight, all of which are now regarded as Oasis classics.

The record charted at No.2 in the UK Official Album Chart UK, selling almost 122,000 copies in its first week of release. It went on to be certified triple platinum and has sold over three million copies worldwide.

Noel Gallagher has often described the title track, ‘The Masterplan’, as one of the best songs he has ever written, and ‘Half The World Away’ has taken on a new life of its own as the theme tune of The Royle Family and more recently a festive John Lewis favourite.

Other popular tracks, such as Rockin’ Chair and Fade Away, have still regularly featured in Liam and Noel’s live shows post Oasis

Now, 25 years on from its release, Big Brother Recordings Ltd have announced a limited edition collectors release of the album to celebrate the anniversary on November 3rd 2023.

The new format will be available on CD, cassette, and vinyl, featuring remastered audio taken from the “Chasing the Sun” reissues.

The new lyric video for Acquiesce is out now to give Oasis fans a taste of what to expect later this year, you can watch HERE.
