Following her sold out UK tour dates and acclaimed Come What May EP in February, Scottish singer-songwriter Rianne Downey is showing no signs of slowing down her impressive rise, with a new single, third EP, and live show announcements.

The latest single, Songbird, signals the start of Rianne’s third chapter, and is taken from the forthcoming Method To My Madness EP, her second EP of the year. It will form part of a 12-track compilation album featuring the four new tracks and the two previous EPs all in one place.

Rianne commented: “Songbird is a kitchen sink lament to the struggles of modern love. It reads like a letter to someone, sealed in an envelope and found on the top deck of a bus on a rainy midweek afternoon on the outskirts of the city. It’s often easier to express it in a letter, or a song, which, in a way, sets the words free. Like a Songbird.”

Downey has also revealed three additional dates in her native Scotland for September 2023. She will be visiting Edinburgh, Aberdeen, and Dundee, hoping to build on the success of this month’s sold out shows in Birmingham, Manchester, and Glasgow.

It promises to be another landmark year for the talented artist, after already being picked out for special guest slots by Liam Fray and The Snuts, and garnering plenty of radio success including with BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music.
