Skylights To Release New Single, “Driving Me Away”

Yorkshire‘s Skylights are continuing their remarkable rise. After recently confirming a huge headline date at the O2 Academy in Leeds ahead of the small matter of a debut album out this Friday, the band have now confirmed that the album’s closing track, ‘DRIVING ME AWAY’, featuring guest violinist, Julia Violinista, will be released as a digital single alongside the physical release of debut record, “What You Are”.

The song describes a troubled relationship and showcases a “softer and more thoughtful side” to Skylights. Their huge following will be even more excited for Friday’s release, after guitarist Turnbull Smith described the new single as “genuinely their best tune yet”.

Speaking about the debut album, Turnbull adds: “We feel immensely proud and lucky to be releasing our debut album now, it’s the  culmination of years of work, but for a while we abandoned the band and only reformed by chance. What’s happened since is amazing, such a passionate response from fans, there is a real buzz. The LP is a mix of old and new songs, with everything fine-tuned for the album release, we hope the fans love it – we really could not do this without them, that’s why we titled the album WHAT YOU ARE, it just fitted – we are what the fans are, they give us the platform”

Album formats are available on 6th May (Friday) are white vinyl or CD with exclusive track by track commentary from the band and three bonus tracks. Pre-order Skylights’ debut album, “What You Are”, HERE – https://lnk.to/WHATUARE.
