Chvrches Ready For UK Tour Next Month

Following the release of latest album, ‘Screen Violence’, back in August, Scottish indie pop group, Chvrches are now set to take the record out on tour. Their 2022 UK tour dates include Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange, Newcastle City Hall, London’s Brixton Academy, Birmingham Academy and Manchester Apollo.

The band’s fourth album was released to widespread acclaim last year, including singles ‘He Said She Said’ and the exciting collaboration with Robert Smith of The Cure on second single, ‘How Not To Drown’, as well as the excellent hit, ‘Good Girls’.

Speaking about the latter, lead singer, Lauren Mayberry said: “The opening line – ‘killing your idols is a chore’ – was something I wrote after listening to some friends arguing about the present day implications of loving certain problematic male artists. I was struck by the lengths that people would go to in order to excuse their heroes and how that was so juxtaposed to my own experiences in the world.

“Women have to constantly justify their right to exist and negotiate for their own space. We’re told that Bad Things don’t happen to Good Girls. That if you curate yourself to fit the ideal – keep yourself small and safe and acceptable – you will be alright, and it’s just not fucking true”.

Tickets for the tour went on general sale last year and have unsurprisingly flown out, with limited availability now. However, you can get your hands on the final remaining tickets here – Full dates listed below.

14 Mar: Edinburgh, Corn Exchange
15 Mar: Newcastle, City Hall
16 Mar: London, Brixton Academy
18 Mar: Birmingham, Academy
19 Mar: Manchester, Apollo
