Rianne Downey Announces Debut Album

Scottish singer-songwriter, Rianne Downey has announced the biggest news of her career so far.

Rianne has unveiled details of her eagerly anticipated debut album The Consequence of Love.

It will be released on October 17th 2025 on Run On Records.

Rianne commented: “From busking on the streets of Glasgow to releasing this record, it almost feels like my whole life has led to this moment.

“The title, ‘The Consequence of Love’, came from one of the last songs I wrote but it captures the heart of the whole album. Each song is the product of the consequence of love.”

The record has been produced by Grammy winner Ryan Hadlock (Zach Bryan, Brandi Carlisle) and recorded at Seattle’s Bear Creek Studio.

The ‘Consequence of Love’ was one of the last songs Rianne wrote for the album after her gran sadly lost her battle with dementia.

Rianne continues: “It’s a reflection on the fragile nature of life and love. I think naturally as people, we often hold onto a childlike belief that the ones we love will always be there, and it’s a painful realisation when life reminds us otherwise.”

The album announcement and single release follow Rianne’s extensive touring as special guest singer with Paul Heaton, including festival headline slots and a huge show recently at Sheffield’s Bramall Lane.

Focus now turns to Rianne’s solo career, and you can catch her live at the following dates this year.
