Peter Serafinowicz is bringing his uniquely surreal brand of comedy to the stage for his first-ever solo UK tour, with technology, impressions and an unpredictable collection of famous faces at the heart of the new show.
The comedian and actor, known for the likes of Spaced, Shaun of the Dead, and Star Wars, has announced The Peter Serafinowicz Live Show, which will bring a host of characters together in real time, using innovative face-swap technology developed by Serafinowicz himself.
The result promises to be a live experience where the audience has little idea who might appear next.
The show has been developed alongside the Dawson Bros., the comedy writing trio who have collaborated with Serafinowicz for more than two decades.
Their involvement has helped shape a production that combines traditional live comedy with increasingly sophisticated visual technology.
The Dawson Bros commented: “We were always going to say ‘yes’ to writing with him on his pioneering live comedy show.
“But what sealed the deal was a phone call from Sir Michael Caine. And then Sir Paul McCartney. And then Brian Butterfield. Peter really does know everyone.”
The new tour arrives 20 years after The Peter Serafinowicz Show first aired on BBC Two, although audiences shouldn’t expect a straightforward trip down memory lane.
Instead, Serafinowicz is revisiting one of his best-known comic strengths, transforming himself into recognisable personalities and pushing it into an entirely new live format.
Among the appearances teased for the show are The Beatles, Michael Caine and Elvis Presley, while Brian Butterfield could also make an appearance.
The dates, listed in full below, include Salford’s Lowry Theatre, Leeds City Varieties Music Hall, and Stockton Arts Centre.
Tickets are on sale today from 10am via http://peterserafinowicz.co.uk.
