Renowned producer and songwriter, James Ellis Ford is back this month with his second solo album.
Lost In Another World will be released by Domino Records on August 14th.

Discussing the track, James commented: “It might seem a little odd to be trying to write dance music from a hospital bed but I was trying to lift my mood and focus on the positive things in my life.
“In that moment my mind went to my little 8-year-old boy Frank and the power he has to bring joy into the world and point the way to a better future.”
James is highly regarded in the music industry for his work with the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Blur, and Depeche Mode, and more recently his production of the Mercury-nominated HELP (2) for War Child Records.
The new album was created in just over two weeks at the start of last year, while James was in hospital receiving chemotherapy, following a diagnosis of acute myeloid leukaemia (AML).
James’ response was to write, play, sing, record and mix a solo album about the experience.
He used a laptop containing his virtual studio and a cheap microphone to create musical sketches, along with a fold away IKEA bedside table with synths provided by his wife.
James continues: “There was no filter. I just sang the first thing that came into my head into the laptop. It was a pep talk; I was telling myself I was going to be OK.
“It was one way of dealing with the existential dread I felt. It gave me the ammunition to fight the experience and was a distraction from it. The album is like a photograph. A time capsule.”
