Inspiral Carpets have today announced Burn Like The Sun, their first studio album in 12 years.
It will be released on January 29th 2027 via Manchester label Scruff of the Neck Records.
The band have unveiled a special announcement video (here), narrated by Professor Brian Cox.
It follows first single ‘Drag The Bag’, which was produced by Jagz Kooner (Primal Scream, Oasis, Kasabian), and arrived last week (listen here).

The album was recorded at Blueprint Studios in Manchester, and sees the band trying to “create something fresh, relevant and emotionally honest”.
Inspirals say it is a record that acknowledges their history without being defined by it, and draws on themes of light, darkness, distance and rebirth.
Burn Like The Sun isn’t a comeback, it is the continuation of a journey, 43 years on from its inception.
