North Shields‘ fast-rising music event, A Stone’s Throw Festival, has confirmed its return for 2026 with their first lineup wave.
Taking place on Saturday 23rd May 2026, it will be the fourth edition and biggest AST Festival to date, returning to Newcastle’s stunning, picturesque coastline.
Announced as co-headliners are Liverpool artist, Luvcat and West Yorkshire’s electronic indie innovators, Working Men’s Club.
Joining the headliners is an array of hotly tipped talent, including Chalk, Panic Shack, Gia Ford, Imogen and the Knife, and North Shields’ very own Hector Gannet.

Launching in 2022, AST Festival transforms coffee shops, event warehouses, CBD dispensaries, and working men’s clubs (fittingly) into music venues for the day.
The festival also collaborates with Go North East and North Tyneside Council to provide an open top double decker bus service, transporting wristband holders from venue to venue, whilst live brass bands perform on the upper deck.
The five participating venues are The Exchange 1856, King Street Social Club, Salt Market Social, Three Tanners Bank and The Engine Room.
Founder, Anthony Thompson (Notion Live Events) commented: “It’s a real privilege to continue building this festival and to welcome such a bold, exciting mix of artists to one of the most distinctive coastal settings in the UK.
“In true AST fashion, we’ll once again be taking over a flurry of unique spaces across the North Shields coastline, with the AST bus returning to ferry audiences between stages throughout the day.
“This festival is rooted in place, community and discovery – and 2026 is shaping up to be another smash hit. We can’t wait for May 23rd and to deliver another unforgettable day for North Shields and beyond.”
