Kyle Falconer Releases Single With Peter Doherty – New Solo Album Out In March

211 0

The View frontman Kyle Falconer is back with a new solo project following the band’s triumphant comeback and last year’s solo return, “The One I Love The Most”.

New album, ‘Lovely Night of Terror’, will be released on March 27th via Modern Sky / Run On Records.

The record was born from Kyle’s popular songwriting retreat at his La Sierra Casa studio in AlicanteSpain.

It was written, performed and produced by Kyle Falconer and Andy Gannon (CourteenersDMA’S).

And the album is packed with collaborations from some of the retreat’s special guests, including Justin Hawkins of The DarknessJamie WebsterLottery Winners and Dave McCabe of The Zutons.

Kyle commented: “I think the album title came to me once we really got into making the songs. Every day I was picking the kids up from school saying, ‘I’ve got another cracker!’

I’d have them blasting the tracks, and my wife would come in too — seeing their reactions made it feel like something really special was happening while we were recording.

The lead single ‘Midas Touch’ features one of the album’s stand-out collaborations with The Libertines and Babyshambles icon, Peter Doherty.

Kyle adds: “I thought it would be cool to get someone to sing on it who wasn’t known for doing pop, and Pete felt like an obvious choice. He was playing in Edinburgh, so I took my kids to see him — and he had his baby there as well.

It was a great moment. We were backstage during soundcheck and he was saying it sounded like Michael Jackson. It was funny singing and dancing along to it with him, just having a good time.

Pete was one of my heroes growing up, so doing a song like that with him was pretty special.”

‘Lovely Night of Terror’ is available to pre-order HERE.

Kyle also recently announced a headline tour, with remaining tickets available HERE and dates listed below.

He will also headline Plymouth’s Sound Factory Festival (July 10th) and perform at Victorious Festival (August 28th).
