BBC 6 Music’s Chris Hawkins has confirmed that he will be bringing the ‘Awesome Friends’ new music night to Manchester next year.
Dedicated to finding the best new sounds and championing the acts you need to watch, the showcase will be hosted by the city’s iconic gig and nightlife hotspot, Night & Day Café.
On his 6 Music show, Chris was an early supporter for emerging acts such as Sam Fender, Wet Leg and The Lathums.
Taking place on Thursday 22nd January 2026, Awesome Friends will feature some of his latest up and coming artist picks, including The Kowloons, Permanent (Joy), and The Cheap Thrills.
Chris commented:: “Awesome Friends is all about discovering the best new acts and supporting them on their journey to main stages.
“The night is an amazing opportunity for music fans to get up close with incredible emerging artists and fall in love with new favourite bands.
“Manchester’s music scene is fantastic shape and introducing the next generations on stage is a massive thrill.”
