Leeds Festival 2025 Preview – Ones to Watch

Northern Chorus are returning to Bramham Park this week for Leeds Festival 2025!

Looking ahead to the weekend, we have hand-picked some of the best artists taking on the famous West Yorkshire event this weekend.

Not sure who to see? Let us plan your weekend…

AMYL AND THE SNIFFERS
Look no further on Friday than Amyl. Amy Taylor and co have ascended the punk rock tree and are fusing their brash, piss and vinegar sound with bolder, muscular rock. Think The Germs meets Queens of the Stone Age, fronted by the best frontwoman in the business.

One to watch: Jerkin’

ANTONY SZMIEREK
Szmierek is making serious waves. His unique brand of poetry finds the romance and beauty hidden in the mundanity of life. Szmierek’s authentically Mancunian voice is backed by a band playing a heady mix of garage, R&B, electronica and more. This man will be higher up the bill here every time he returns, so catch him while you can.

One to watch: Yoga Teacher

LAMBRINI GIRLS
Lambrini Girls are what punk should be in 2025: angry, queer and intent to brutalise the societal norms that uphold the status quo. If you’re looking to mosh your head off whilst boiling with anti-capitalist rage, then Lambrini Girls are the band for you. They put on one hell of a punk show, their debut album landed this year (the incendiary Who Let The Dogs Out) and LG are heading to the top.

One to watch: Cuntology 101

THE DARE
LA to New York, Leeds to Reading. The Dare is possibly the coolest bloke in the industry right now and he is bringing his massive show to Leeds. Sunglasses, suits and cigarettes are the order for Friday night- it’s a party that is bound to go off.

One to watch: All Night

CHAPPELL ROAN
Arguably one of the biggest popstars on the planet, Chappell is a pop sensation and you can expect pink cowboy hats to be the uniform for her show. It may not be sweaty, punk, raucous or packed in a tiny tent – but mark our words, people will be talking about this headline set for years to come.

One to watch: Pink Pony Club

SOFT PLAY
Soft Play are back and have been on the road for over a year, touring their latest record, Heavy Jelly. This festival set, taking on a big early evening slot on the Chevron Stage feels like a lap of honour for the boys. British punk is back in ascendency, and a good deal of the quality we see today is thanks to these two boys. Be there or be square.

One to watch: Everything and Nothing

Leeds Festival has a reputation for pandering to pop predictably these days. A reputation that is totally unfounded.

This year has not only got the queen of pop in Chappell Roan, but a backbone of solid punk rock roots.

Whatever your tastes, the beauty of Leeds Festival is that it caters to pretty much everyone.

Diversity in taste is our strength as music fans, and I’ll raise a can of warm lager to that.
