As The Clause gear up to release their highly anticipated debut album, ‘Victim Of A Casual Thing’, the Birmingham indie quartet have released a new video for latest single ‘Elisha’.
The new album lands on October 17th, and the new single follows ‘Nothing’s As It Seems’, ‘Weekend Millionaires’, ‘I Don’t Care’, and ‘Fever Dream’ as the tracks released so far.
Frontman, Pearce Macca commented: “Written like a diary entry that was never meant to be read, ‘Elisha’ is a bittersweet anthem about the one who never really let go of my heart. It captures the ache of still being tethered to my first love.
“Despite trying to move on and trying to feel the same way about someone else, nothing’s ever stuck. I’m clinging onto teenage memories like an addict who can’t get clean.”
‘Elisha’ was written by The Clause and was produced by Matt Terry at VADA Studios.
The producer hailed the band as “one of the hardest working, dedicated bands I have ever worked with as well as being beautiful souls”.
Matt also described their forthcoming debut album as being “great for all the reasons that make an indie album great.”
Pearce continues: “Writing ‘Elisha’ was a way of saying all the things I’m not brave enough to say out loud.
“It’s about feelings that have etched themselves onto my skin like a tattoo, only to wonder if this was all just my fantasy and doubting if they ever really felt the same at all?”
A full UK headline tour will follow festival season and the debut album release in November and December.
It includes The Clause‘s biggest headline show to date at the 3000-capacity O2 Academy Birmingham.
Tickets for the shows (detailed in full below) are available HERE.
The new album will be released on black vinyl, gold vinyl, CD, cassette and digital formats.
Album bundles purchased from the band’s official store also offer signed vinyl and a bonus CD, while new merch designs are also available.
