Ahead of their highly anticipated comeback album “onion”, hard life have unveiled new single “y3llow bike” and an accompanying video.
It follows popular tracks “othello” and “OGRE”, which were debuted at the band’s long-awaited live return at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend after two years away.
Frontman, Murray Matravers commented: “‘y3llow bike’ details the cycles of a crush. The classic story of falling for a friend.
“There’s that constant tug-of-war between wanting to protect the friendship and dealing with the fragile ego that fears rejection.”
The new album lands on July 18th via Island EMI and is the band’s first record since a high profile legal dispute over their previous name “easy life”.

As easy life, the Leicester group broke through with indie earworm “Pockets” back in 2017, before landing two UK #2 charting albums.
They have collaborated with the likes of Arlo Parks, Kevin Abstract and FINNEAS along the way, while gracing iconic stages from Alexandra Palace to Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage.
Their UK headline tour is on sale now for October, including a return to London’s O2 Academy Brixton.
It will follow a run of in-store shows including Edinburgh Assai Records, Liverpool Jacaranda Records, and Nottingham Rough Trade.
