West Yorkshire’s latest indie star, Ellur has announced her upcoming EP, God Help Me Now, slated for release on January 16th, 2025, via Dance To The Radio.

She has also unveiled the EP’s title track, out today (August 8th).

Co-written with Benjamin Francis-Leftwich and produced by Joel Johnston (Far Caspian), the track made its debut on BBC 6 Music during Chris Hawkins’ show.

Ellur’s most anthemic release yet showcases her vivid storytelling, drawing inspiration from contemporaries like Sharon Van Etten and Sam Fender.

This release comes just ahead of her debut performances at Reading & Leeds Festival on the BBC Introducing stage later this month.

Ellur commented: “’God Help Me Now’ is the most honest song I’ve ever written. I approached co-writers Benjamin Francis Leftwich and Jack Leonard back in September with my heart on my sleeve, opening up about how I had so many things I wanted to write about that scared me.

“I joked with them about my dreams of writing that one song where people get on their friends shoulders and scream the lyrics. I wanted to write someone’s favourite song.”

Following a busy summer of festival appearances and supporting acts like Robbie Williams (BST Hyde Park) and Jack Savoretti, Ellur’s profile is rapidly rising.

After completing her sold-out debut UK headline tour in May, Ellur has garnered widespread acclaim from both sides of the Atlantic.

Ellur continiues: “In a nice way, it’s become my favourite song I’ve released so far and after taking inspiration from the likes of Sam Fender, The Killers and Sharon Van Etten, the fully produced version was born.

“The sonic world of this song is a true demonstration of exactly how I’ve always wanted my music to feel and sound. The perfect combination of synth, guitar and snare that, to me, makes an indie anthem.”

Ellur’s ‘God Help Me Now’ is out now via Dance To The Radio and available on all digital platforms – here.
