Icelandic rockers Kaleo are coming to the north for their Autumn headline tour dubbed The Kaleo Express, which heads to the UK in the coming days and sees the band playing Manchester, London, Glasgow, Birmingham and Dublin (full tour dates below).
It was following the release of Way Down We Go, which appeared both on the FIFA 16 soundtrack and television commercials, that Kaleo really started to make a name for themselves. Since then, the band has gone from strength to strength with their unique sound and global appeal.
Since the release of Kaleo’s debut album A/B last year, they have been an unstoppable force around the world, earning critical acclaim for their distinctive mix of alternative rock and bluesy melodies, playing some of the world’s largest festival stages along the way.
Lead singer JJ Julius Son’s gritty vocals give the band a powerful dynamic tearing through a range of notes with a soaring falsetto. Kaleo recently performed their single No Good on The Late, Late Show with James Corden, a song that had Rolling Stone proclaiming that it ‘stomps like The Black Keys at their meatiest’. The track is outstanding, and also has hints of a Royal Blood/Lumineers hybrid.
Having now sold nearly half a million albums worldwide, the Kaleo Express Tour looks set to continue on from the success of the band’s debut headline Handprint tour last year, which had a two month-long international run.
It promises to be a series of unmissable live performances, so get your hands on the remaining tickets while you can!
